I made quick work of the piece. Except for the crow. The crow is stitched 1-over-1. I’ve never done this before and really regret not having a magnifier of some sort. How I managed to do that on 32 count linen without causing eye strain or a headache, I do not know. But, it was worth it, because the crow’s pretty awesome.
Putting it together wasn’t too hard, though the instructions were lacking, so I just winged it and hoped for the best. It involved glue and the constant reminder that I was making this for a 2 year old who won’t care if it’s perfect.
It’s supposed to be a necklace, but I think it makes an equally cute decoration. I’ll leave it up to my niece to decide how she wants to use it.
For the project, I used a kit (chart, cord, and cardboard backing) from Traditional Stitches and threads by Dragonflylotus Designs Handspun Thread (Sunlit Chestnut, Sunlit Burnt Orange, Brushed Silver, Sunlit Clover, and Sunlit Carbon).
